What is a

'Second shooter?'

A second shooter is essentially a second photographer who will attend your wedding day. Depending on which package you book, depends on if you have a second shooter attending your day. The Second Shooter will work along side me, and also independently with my instruction. They will aim to capture your day from different perspectives, meaning you have a wider variety of photos in your final gallery. For example, the second shooter may capture groomsman prep whilst I capture bridal prep. Without a second shooter, both preparations may not always be possible to capture depending on the destination and logistics.

I will direct the second shooter for the duration of your wedding day. For example, I may ask them to capture photos from the back of the aisle whilst I photograph from the front. Another example, I may capture the speaker during speeches whilst the second shooter captures guests reactions. Again, capturing different perspectives.

How will this benefit our wedding day?

Having a second shooter will benefit your day in many ways.

  • Your day will be captured from different angles and perspectives. Ie The front and back of the aisle.
  • Beneficial if you have a larger wedding party.
  • Guaranteed groomsman and bridal preparations photographed.
  • Enables more time for candid images of guests.
  • Beneficial if you are filling your day with additional surprises, ie Singing waiters, fireworks, live music, magician, sparklers etc.
  • Two pairs of hands to help where needed, photographers are fully invested in your day and like to get stuck in where we can to help ease any worries or stress.
  • Larger final gallery, usually around 200 more images.

For example..

The two photos below are taken at the same time by two photographers. One by myself as the booked photographer, and the other by the second shooter. See how they both capture a different perspective? One captures a full frame of the setting at a wide angle, whilst the other is a much closer viewpoint capturing more expression, and the couple in greater detail. Both are equally as beautiful in their own way and for different reasons. The couple received both these images in their final gallery along with many more from this particular scene.
